To apply to present or attend Polmeth, please fill out the application below.
You will be asked to submit the title and proposal (2 full pages for a proposal; full paper may be submitted) and designate whether the primary contribution of the paper falls under “Applications” or “Theory or Methods.”
For co-authored papers, only one person should apply as a presenting author. Other co-authors should apply to attend, unless they are applying as the presenting authors for another submission.
You will also be asked whether you would like to be considered for support to defray some of the cost of attending the conference (registration fees, dormitory accommodations, and some additional travel expenses).
The deadline for applications is March 26 and decisions will be emailed to applicants on April 24, 2026. Registration closes on May 5, 2026.
Before the start of the PolMeth meeting, Visions in Methodology (VIM) will host a pre-conference workshop on July 15, 2026 at Michigan State University. The workshop will include presentations, workshops, and professionalization discussions. The event is open to anyone who identifies as a woman, including trans women, cis women, and women of all gender identities. Participants of marginalized genders who experience misogyny, or who otherwise feel comfortable attending this gathering, are also welcome to apply. Participants in the VIM workshop are encouraged to remain for the full PolMeth conference.
Decisions will be emailed to applications on April 24, 2026.
Registration for accepted participants closes on May 5. Registration fees are $400 ($300 for students) for SPM members and $450 ($350 for students) for non-SPM members. Fees cover access to all panels, lunch on Thursday and Friday, the social event on Thursday evening, and the poster session reception on Friday.
There are three options for accommodations at and around MSU.
