The 2026 Annual Meeting of the Society for Political Methodology begins with a Welcome Reception at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday July 15 and runs until 12:30 p.m. Saturday July 18, 2026. (See the full itinerary here.) Please plan accordingly.
Michigan State University is located 83 miles west of the Detroit-Wayne County Metropolitan Airport (DTW) which offers domestic and international flights.
Michigan Flyer Shuttle travels between East Lansing and DTW on a regular schedule. The Michigan Flyer busses have air conditioning and wi-fi and are used frequently by MSU faculty. They run 14 daily round trips and travel time is about two hours. Pickup and drop-off in East Lansing is at the East Lansing Marriott .
How to book Michigan Flyer: You can reserve a seat on Michigan Flyer at www.michiganflyer.com. You do not need to make an account. Select Detroit Airport as your departure point. Select East Lansing Marriott as your arrival point. Enter your arrival date (and return date if you choose) and number of passengers. Choose your airline. Fares are $35 one way or $60 round-trip (fares are slightly discounted if there are two people traveling together).
The flyer operates every 90 minutes from 6:30 a.m. until 11 p.m. Be sure to give yourself enough time to get from the gate to the pickup point and collect your baggage, if checked. Pick ups are at the McNamara Terminal Departure Level if you are flying Delta and the Evans Terminal Ground Transportation Terminal for all other airlines. Passengers who need wheelchair assistance should normally request it when making reservations with their airlines, which contract with Prospect Airport Services to provide wheelchair services. For wheelchair assistance at the Evans Terminal, you may also call Prospect directly at (734) 247-1121.
To get to the Kellogg Center from the Michigan Flyer Shuttle: The shuttle drops off and picks up in downtown East Lansing at the East Lansing Marriott at University Place, under the skywalk on Albert Avenue (333 Albert Avenue) From that stop, the conference venue, the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center (219 S. Harrison Road) is about a mile across campus; roughly a five-minute taxi or rideshare, a 20-minute walk or a short ride on a CATA campus bus. Google Map Directions
Returning to DTW: If you didn't book a round trip on the Michigan Flyer, now is the time to book your return route. The pickup area is at the East Lansing Marriott. Please remember to give yourself a two-hour window plus a buffer before your flight, and please do not book flights before 2:30 p.m. as the conference does not conclude until 12:30 p.m. Saturday.

The Capital Region International Airport (LAN) is approximately 15 miles by car from campus but fewer flight options are available. There are car rental facilities at LAN and various ride services are available.
The Kellogg Center is on the western border of Michigan State University's campus at 219 S. Harrison Road East Lansing, MI 48824-1022 .

Please note that parking a vehicle in the attached garage costs an additional $15/night per vehicle during normal operations. Guests will receive their parking pass(es) from the Front Desk at Check-In. The provided pass must be displayed on the front dashboard or rearview mirror of the vehicle while it is parked in the ramp. Passes remain valid until midnight on the date of departure. Guests are free to enter and exit the ramp at any time during their stay.
If you are staying elsewhere, the ramp is pay-by plate. Payment kiosks are located in the hotel (two on the lobby level next to the ATM) and in the parking ramp (three on the ground level).
